Use 1 level teaspoon per 6 oz cup. Heat water until steaming. Steep for 2
minutes. Good for 9-10 infusions with cups 2 and 3 often considered the
best. Best prepared gongfu style.
Also available in our convenient 1 oz Iced Tea Pouches to make 2 quarts of
tea (4 pouches per package to make 2 gallons or 8 quarts of tea). Select
the 'Iced Tea (4)' option. To brew iced tea, add 1 iced tea pouch to 1
quart of boiling water. Steep for the time listed. Pour tea over a 2 quart
pitcher full of ice. Add sugar to taste.

Ti
Kuan Yin is considered part of the Oolong tea family as a semi-fermented
tea. Ti Kuan Yin is known as a special variety of Camellia Sinesis -tea
plant. Ti Kuan Yin from Taiwan is a very close relative of Dark Oolong tea
because it is baked longer than Green Oolong. China Ti Kuan Yin such as
Anxi Ti Kuan Yin is very similar to Green Oolongs.
‘Ti
Kuan Yin’ literally means “Iron Goddess of Mercy” and this is a
famous, top grade of Oolong. It
is produced mainly in the area of Anxi county in Fujian Province. This tea
is made from a unique variety of the Camellia sinensis plant that is
shorter than other trees with leaves that are thick and soft. One premium
grade of Ti Kuan Yin is often referred to as “monkey picked” from a
legend that it was grown on such steep mountainsides that only monkeys
could help in harvesting it. Ti
Kuan Yin produces an almond-colored brew with a sweet and nutty flavor
with a floral aroma.
Studies show that drinking Oolong during or after a high-cholesterol meal
has been shown to lower the intake of fat content in the blood. Promotes
healthy teeth, skin and bones.
