Andrographis, also known as “King of
Bitters”, it is one of the most bitter herbs which is on the
market. Andrographis is a member of the plant family Acanthaceae.
The active phytochemicals are found in the leaves of the plant. The most
medicinally active phytochemicals are andrographolide,
deoxyandrographolide and neoandrographolide. In Sweden, andrographis has been used for
more than 10 years as a primary herb for the winter season. The whole plant is an
excellent drug for intermittent fevers, skin diseases
intestinal worms, bronchial asthma, burning of the body,
regulating the bowels, and is extremely bitter.

patients with a tendency to loose stools, diarrhea, poor appetite or
chronic digestive weakness. Use with caution in hemorrhagic disorders or
with patients on anti-coagulant therapy.
