Bad Breath
Coated Tongue, Halitosis, Oral
Hygiene
Bad Breath! Can you honestly say you haven't blown
into your hand
for a breath check before meeting someone for the first time. Bad breath can be caused by several issues, but the most common is
poor food assimilation and poor oral hygiene.
Bad breath is caused by odor-producing bacteria
that grow in the mouth. When you don't follow good oral hygiene,
such as brushing and flossing regularly, bacteria accumulate
on the bits of food left in your mouth and between your teeth. The
sulfur compounds released by these bacteria make your breath
smell. Other reasons may be, Excessive
bacterial activity on the tongue, possibly due to postnasal drip.
Throat or tonsil infection.
Certain foods, especially ones like garlic and
onions that contain pungent oils, can contribute to bad breath
because the oils are carried to your lungs and out through your
mouth. Think about this, we all know when we have had garlic for
lunch, and it's now time for the meeting, but wait no mints, now
what? Try chewing on a piece of parsley, peppermint, or even
rinsing your mouth with salt and water.
