Buying in Bulk Saves You Money
Save Resources
Doesn't create Landfill Waste
Buying in bulk, it is easy to do. Let me show you
how to save loads of money by
buying in bulk. Think about it, when you shop at your
favorite discount outlet store, you are buying in bulk. You see
18 rolls of paper towels for $12.99, you don't buy the 2 pack of
paper towels for $6.99. You buy the value pack.
That is exactly what buying herbs, teas, seasoning and spices in
bulk is; Value Pack. Value for your dollar. Let me give you an
example of how we save with buying in bulk.
I used to pay $4.29 for a box of 20 teabags of Darjeeling tea.
The price per teabag is 21 cents. Plus I have all the
packaging I recycle.
When I purchase the Darjeeling tea in bulk the cost is $24.00 for
one pound. This will make approximately 250 cups of
tea. Plus I will purchase 5 re-usable teabags at 20 cents
each. For a total cost of $24.20. The cost per cup of
tea 10 cents. Ten Cents. What a savings from 21 cents, when
I purchase pre-packaged items.
I know what you might be thinking though, I only drink tea, once or
twice a week and it will go to waste, before I can use it.
That is what I used to think too. Not so now. Myself ,
family members and
three friends got together, and we share the bulk herbs, spices and
teas. For
example, during the holidays we use Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Orange peel
and Cayenne in huge amounts. We buy one bag of each and split
it three, four or five ways. Nothing goes to waste. Below are a few
more examples of saving with bulk
