Caraway seeds are commonly added to impart a bit of spice. Do not, however, use so many seeds that they overpower the rye. Caraway Seeds are most popular in the foods of northern and eastern Europe. Caraway seeds are used for flavoring in confectionery. A fragrant oil that is obtained from the seeds is said to have carminative and stimulant properties and is used for flavoring.
