Caraway seeds are commonly added to impart a bit of spice. Do not, however, use so many seeds that they overpower the rye. Caraway Seeds are most popular in the foods of northern and eastern Europe. Caraway seeds are used for flavoring in confectionery. A fragrant oil that is obtained from the seeds is said to have carminative and stimulant properties and is used for flavoring.
Caraway seeds are one of the main ingredients in chai, the unique spicy black tea that originated in India and now is easily found all around the world. If you cannot get a hold of

Caraway seeds are curved, and tapered at each end with five pale ridges. The colour of the valley between each ridge should be dark brown.
