What are Chinese Bulk Herbs?
Chinese herbs are being welcomed by progressive western consumers who are seeking natural, healthy and balanced alternative remedies. [1] Chinese herbs are most often combined into formulas. The herbalist first determines which underlying conditions or patterns are manifesting in the patient's unique situation.[2] Chinese herbs are being increasingly used to treat diseases like, Digestive problems, Eczema and psoriasis, Fatigue, Gynaecological disorders, Hepatic (liver) disorders, Cardiovascular disorders, Stress and Allergies and autoimmune disorders effectively. Chinese herbal medicines are mainly plant based, but some preparations include minerals or animal products.[3]
As concerns arise on the contaminations of Chinese herbs by heavy metals and pesticides, all Chinese herb extracts we use need to be in compliance with the standards set by US Pharmacopoeia.[4]
All herbs, herb powders, concentrated powders, and formulas, are accompanied by
a certificate of analysis. This is a certificate that checks for heavy
metals impurities, Sulphur, chlorine and bacteria. Chinese herbs are traditionally given as a very strong tea. The acupuncturist will give the patient several bags of herbs.[5] Chinese herbs are also effective at addressing mechanical issues seen in infertility, such as scar tissue that blocks the fallopian tubes or Endometriosis. Ovulatory issues can also be addressed successfully with Chinese medicinal herb formulas ; they can balance hormones effectively when ovarian failure is due to hormonal issues.[6]
Chinese herbs are always combined together in a group called a formula. Chinese herbs are believed to strengthen the body and mind, enhance immunity, relieve stress and generally improve well being. Many herbal practitioners believe that a combination of balanced nutrition, regular exercise and the use of Chinese immunity-boosting herbs consumed over a long period of time will enhance a person's vitality and even lead to a longer life.[9]
Chinese herbs are nothing new in medicine, but they must seem like it because of how prevalent they have become in alternative treatments in the West. All medicine was first rooted in using herbs to help fight illness or increase general wellness, but chemistry has come to play a major part in the health industry.[10] Chinese herbs are an effective form of treating disharmony in the body. The practice of using Chinese Herbs dates back before acupuncture.[11]
