Schisandra Fruit is an
herb that is used to calm the mind while creating a tranquil environment. Jujube Fruit may help strengthen the immune system, build up energy levels, and treat mild cases of depression.[1] Schisandra fruit is fully ripened in the fall and appears as numerous spikes of tiny, bright red berries. The berries have sweet, sour, hot, salty and bitter
tastes. Hence the Chinese name for schisandra, "Wu Wei Zi" (five-flavored herb).[2] Schisandra Fruit is one of the most wonderful herbs of beautifying. It is China's premier anti-aging herb.[3]
Wu Wei Zi is considered the counter-part to Quang Qi and especially effective for people with
restless thoughts. Research has shown that schisandra has adaptogenic properties. Wu Wei Zi is the food or herb that is considered as a complete meal as far as Chinese medicine is concerned. It is a prized food product because it contains all the five tastes of the Chinese diet. Wu Wei Zi is commonly used in Chinese herbalism, where it is considered to be one of the 50 fundamental
herbs. It is an excellent tonic and restorative, helping in stressful times and increasing zest for
